Lead Site Reliability Engineer

Job Duties: Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.

Duties Include:

1. Automate onboarding of microservices into CI/CD pipeline to all environments.
2. Write AWS Cloud formation stacks towards automation.
3. Work with development team to onboard applications with new AWS services like AppStream.
4. Continuously monitor and optimize cloud cost.
5. Contribute to cost optimized infrastructure architectural solutions and to the infrastructure architecture for microservices in cloud.
6. Configure build, bake, deploy Jenkins jobs for Windows & Linux.
7. Debug CI/CD pipeline issues, configure NGINX reverse proxy for new services, and on call support for Production issues.
8. Participate in daily standup calls for the status updates and Knowledge sharing of the issues faced with and by the team members.
9. Work on routing architectures for LS2 in Nginx & HAProxy.
10. Work with development team on new innovative PoC’s.
11. Work with AWS support to resolve developmental issues.
12. Work on patching the Windows VM’s every month.
13. Lead Devops efforts in projects as required with dev, QA team.
14. Perform code reviews and ensure solutions meet architectural specifications and coding standards.
15. Contribute with development team on PoC’s on prototype Fridays and to disaster recovery testing.
16. Deliver PoC’s for MutualSSL, API gateway, mod-security WAF.
17. Document all project and learnings in the hub, organize weekly KT call to share with team.
18. Work on monitoring in Datadog, on dashboards, monitoring and logging.
19. Work with interns to deliver solution that can be used in Production.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or closely related field, plus 3 years’ experience in implementing cloud architectures in AWS.

Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or closely related field, plus 5 years’ experience in implementing cloud architectures in AWS.

Experience may be gained concurrently and must include the following:

1) 3 years’ experience with AWS using services like EC2, S3, RDS, Route53, IAM, Lambda, ALB’s-both Lift & shift from datacenter to cloud, implementing cloud-native architectures.
2) 3 years of experience in scripting with Python, PowerShell, shell scripting, Linux and windows Administration, boto3 and icinga dashboards.
3) 3 years of experience in source control management with Git, TFS, ADO.
4) 2 years of experience in implementing new cloud services like AppStream, SQS, SNS, Serverless, ECS.
5) 2 years of experience with CI/CD tools Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins freestyle and pipeline configs, AWS cloud formation templates.
6) 2 years of experience server administration, patching, maintenance, AWS Patch Manager.
7) 2 years of experience in Infrastructure monitoring tools like Datadog, SiteScope, cloud-watch.
8) 1 year experience with incident management tools like PagerDuty, VictorOps.
9) 3 years of experience in managing and leading teams, mentoring, project management, product management, technical leadership.

Experience can be gained pre, during or after Master’s degree.
